Winners for November 2018

41001 (17/11)
92023 (9/11)
150209 (23/11) [renumbering]
700019 (9/11)
700056 (9/11)
700146 (9/11)
802006 (9/11)
802012 (9/11)

4x 700s remain (2 of each sub-class), but a quiet month for my red pen. More of a waiting game for new stock to arrive, with knocking off the 800/802s on the GWML with trips to London via Reading when I have the time

I got up fairly early both days to make as much use of travelcards as I could  I wanted to get on as much of the GA/TFL Fleet to get them done before they go! Though I popped to London Bridge a few times too for some SE/SN, and one the second day I bought an additional ticket that let me go to Luton Airport Parkway for some EMT “haulage”. :) Managed to get a LNR trip to Harrow in as well :)

Nice to see a few Skodas scratched in amongst all of the plastic. You'll have to get those that turn up on LNER services before its too late.

I've not posted anything in here since July, so here's my new locos in recent months...
August - 8, 11 (IOW kettles), 68033.
September - 66766/782, 86637, 92033.
October - 08783, 31430, 66055
December - 03196, 08485/678, 66075/077.
That brings me to 41 UK maine line or ex BR locos, 4 up on last year.

The other recent highlight was clearing my Class 170s - my last one (456) being out of my home station too, following its transfer south earlier this month.

As I suspect I won't be getting anything new tomorrow:

New haulages, December 18:

66075 (22/12)
66077 (22/12)

320401 (28/12) (As a 320)
320404 (28/12) (As a 320)

385003 (28/12)
385007 (29/12)
385012 (29/12)
385014 (29/12)
385031 (29/12)

385104 (28/12)
385107 (29/12)
385108 (29/12)
385109 (28/12)
385112 (29/12)
385113 (29/12)
385114 (29/12)
385115 (28/12)
385118 (29/12)

700059 (19/12) (Last 700 :))
700060 (14/12)
700121 (14/12)
700154 (15/12)

800302 (2/12)
800311 (15/12)
800312 (19/12)
800319 (21/12)
800321 (19/12)

802009 (21/12)
802011 (21/12)

The highlight of the month was grabbing my last 4 700s to clear that class, plus making slow inroads with the IETs doing Reading - Paddington (and vice versa) moves. And a few hours in Glasgow put a good number of the new 385s into my book with runs to Croy (although I wish I had paid the extra for the Glasgow Days Out rover to grab the 4 sets of units on the XX:15 & XX:45 departures which skip Croy (Hint, be at the front of a service from Glasgow to make tightish connections) Both 320s fell within a few minutes of each other, although 404 is only in my book on a bus stop leap.

Well done clearing the 700s Kite, I've still got quite a few to get. I've not had any IETs yet, I will have to change that in 2019 :D.
I've ran over that bridge at Croy many times when I've been unit bashing on a roundabout ticket including once in the snow a few years ago when I fell on my ar@e much to the amusement of some children.
I've only been on a 385 once and that was from Queen St to Falkirk H a few weeks ago, I thought it was very noisy for a new unit and a bit bumpy too. The 365 back to Queen St was much more acceptable :D.

Croy isn't the best place for Queen Street - Edinburgh services as on the standard pattern they give a tight connection to a stopper back.

I think the next time I will pay extra for a days out ticket (and probably do a few Queen Street - Croy - Falkirk - Croy - Queen Street - Falkirk - Queen Street moves)

I'm happy the 700s are done, no more festers on the Farringdon footbridge
