Nice work Mr Rover! :D 442 will soon be yours!

Mr Mugridge, what is up with 801203? Nice going there too, I will have to make an effort to start doing them eventually. Probably with super power sunglasses, so I don't have to endure too much of that red interior! Interesting point of order, if it was orange and not red, not that LNER would go for orange of course, I would have zero problem with that colour choice!

Was on a dead connection at Salford Crescent to get it today, but that ended up a minus 6, so it will have to wait.

Ouch! Hopefully next time it'll connect into/out of another score, making the wait even sweeter :) It seems nuts it's already a shade over a week since I cleared the 769s, hoping next week to give the red pen another flutter!

Congratulations! Same for getting close to done with the 175s!

Shorter list than planned because:
-720584 was taken off diagram early :(
-803003 was subbed for dud 803004, and then a rather vulgar announcement made by a “customer ambassador” told me to get off or else when I boarded at Stevenage, so
-I then missed 801227 that I’d booked an advance for.
Oh well.

Today takes me to 53/55 operational 720s in the book, with two accepted and thirty-four unaccepted more to go on to complete the eighty-nine strong 720/5 fleet.

Considering I picked a bad weekend to head to GA land due to a lot of engineering works (only trains out of Norwich were the 745s!), not a bad result.

Units taken over ten miles were 321328, 710127 and 710129.

40 720s now, all over ten miles, none repeated. 3 710/1s to go, unfortunately one of which is 710124, the other two 710104 and 710107, plus a further four to take up to ten miles.

769421

FINALLY got that one done, all day I didn't believe it would actually turn up but I happily got it done on a leap up the ramp to Cardiff Queen Street <:D Given the odds of 769426 now never actually working a passenger service are quite, well, interesting I think it's fair to say that I'm now done with the Welsh 769s! :D

I might even add a small trip report later with photos of the short but sweet adventure in Cardiff

Wait... what.... you were at Cardiff yesterday?

Were you the bloke in light / mid blue at the east end of the central island...?

Not me no, and apologies but I got busy today so I haven't done my mini trip report yet. Maybe tomorrow, although that's another busy day!

I was only at Central between 1510 and 1531, much of that time was spent in the waiting room on platform 6 (never knew it was there, nice area that and good for getting some work done) between 175007 and 769421. I did return to Central later on, but not until around 1708 and then it was straight to platform 1 to get a photo of 67025 and a PNB before the 67 back to base.

For the record, I'm currently normally found in an orange coat. As the weather warms up, that will probably switch back to my blue Regatta coat.

Anyway, it sounds like we almost crossed paths yesterday!

We did indeed... I was on the IET to Paddington that was pulling out just as 67 025 was pulling in... and I do remember seeing someone on the end of the platform with a camera...!! I was on the right hand side of the train, so will have only been a few feet from you...

Oh wow that was close then! When I got to Central, making my way straight up to the 67 as I wanted to be in the seats closest to the locomotive, but then figuring a quick PNB on the station made more sense, there was a 170 on the slightly delayed 1708 to Cheltenham but I didn't see an IET.

I have to confess I was more tucking into my food from Greggs and staring out of the window on the left side of the train than to trains or people on Central at that point! Still, I shall add no more as I will ruin the trip report. Which should get done later this morning :)
