Thanks.
I'm reasonably "local" and the Southern fares to the coast are quite good, so thought I'd better make the effort.
I was able to check with a friend who has TOPS access before setting off.

Even though "Part Time Spotter" features 313s on his website, as Southern often have spare 377s, it's not unknown for the plan to change during the day.

Oh indeed, I've been victim of last minute changes too many times! The amount of times I would get a 180 vice HST, back in the day, for example.

If I lived within, say, 50 miles of the West Coastway I would absolutely make the effort for the 313s.

So what's your goal now?

Congratulations! I'm two 67s behind you, and have been waiting for 007 and 030 for a long time. I missed out on 030, as I wasn't out when it turned up on the Cardiff to Taunton services at the time, 007 has just always avoided me. Other than that, I too have only scored 67s on service trains, and I might be in for a very long wait to get 007 and 030!

Especially if they are short of staff as a 377 can run DOO with an optional On board Supervisor whereas the 313s need guards.

I'm glad I got my last one needed for mileage a couple weeks ago, as they are on borrowed time

Glad you got 165101 as you would now require a trip to the West Country owing to it’s recent relocation. Today, it substituted for a 158 on the five hour Great Malvern - Brighton service… lucky passengers, I’m sure

It's funny you should say that as these are all of my journeys on that unit!

Not a particularly big month for new haulage for me.

05/03/2022 - Crewe
60015
66060
66084
170531
170532

19/03/2022 - Aviemore
27050
37674
D2774
Vanguard '277V'
Ruston '265618'

20/03/2022 - London
345019
345041
710104
710107

I also sorted out my low mileage 710s to take 710102, 710109, 710113, 710119 and 710120 over ten miles. Just need 710124 (and the four 710s not yet moved from Derby) to complete the fleet. 67 345s now.

Other units taken over ten miles this month were 156452, 317502 and 465016.

Oh, I see
I frequent the Severn beach line so the first two were relatively easy to get, and now by pure coincidence I am staying with friends in Brighton so made a rather desperate move in between pubs to get it here!

Gosh I’m rather jealous of those locomotive haulages, which can’t have been easy to get.

Easy enough if you buy a ticket for a railtour!
For all the potential haulage gain from being on a railtour or attending a preserved railway gala, the moves to get there and back can be more satisfying.

Indeed they can, but I have to say I'm not sure my moves to/from Kidderminster on 170s and 172s for next month's gala probably would not be as satisfying as a Western, the 50s, my first 44 or indeed other things running

Now under 100 Northern units required, until some more 323s arrive from the West Mids.

Good gravy that was a good haul! It looks like you had a lot more patience than me up there, although I was heavily distracted by bikes and the weather!

I did a couple walks in the afternoon (Harbour City towards Imperial War Museum & one around Chorlton).

It was one of my requirements until last month, but I caught up with it on a Reading - Basingstoke service.
