The date for the reduction of the 508/2 fleet to 6 units has been pushed
back until March. The current plan for the reduction is as follows:

To go:

508 201
508 202
508 204
508 206
508 209
508 212 [ This one is stored unservicable and is an Xmas tree ]

To stay:

508 203
508 205
508 207
508 208
508 210
508 211

According to the yahoo group NSE_gen posted last night:

"508205 is now to be withdrawn instead of 204.This is because 205 has bad wheel flats.508202,206 & 209 are booked to go to Chart Leacon tomorrow(Tuesday)morning.Sorry,no idea of time.
508201 & 205 are booked away on Wednesday, along with 212 sandwiched in the middle if it can be made safe to do so..."

Hope this is helpful?

I have a feeling they might be backup for the new 466s that replaced them. One thing for sure, I hope I am wrong!! I have been using the 466s on the Sheerness Line every day and they are a definite improvement.
