Well, Friday night saw me hatch a plan I'd been formulating for a while. Nightshots of a Colas shed and a 60 at Warrington Bank Quay. I had it on good authority that both trains stopped for a crew change and would use the goods line next to platform 1. What could possibly go wrong? I arrived to find 66237 stood on an engineers as dusk fell - http://www.ferret.fotopic.net/p68219264.html

Shortly after it departed, 66842 arrived - http://www.ferret.fotopic.net/p68219265.html , about 10 minutes before the fog! Then, horror of horrors, the gen came through that the 60-hauled coal was caped. So, having run cock-on time all week, the night I go up it gets caped. Thank you very much!<(

Still, at least there was 1P05 to get - headed to Stafford which by now was shrouded in fog - http://www.ferret.fotopic.net/p68219266.html

Yesterday I woke up with man flu, and it hasn't got much better today. Still, no way was a passing up a sunny shot of DRS 37s on a test train so I headed to Daw Mill and trudged down the field sniffling away. http://www.ferret.fotopic.net/p68219262.html

Unbelievably, those gorgeous blue skies failed to last, and as I felt like s**t, I returned home to feel sorry for myself. Around 15:00, I noticed it had cleared up again, so raced to Wichnor for 60099. The Chair will bear testimony to the fact that 6M00 was approaching as I pulled up on the bridge, I never even had chance to take the keys out of the car ignition! And adding to the fortunate nature of this shot, having arrived with 10 seconds to spare, I'd say that no more than 20 seconds later, the sun had sunk into a distant cloud and it went very dark! Phew! http://www.ferret.fotopic.net/p68219263.html
