Is that because the people in the distance and clones of the ones close by?Looking through a driver's window at it certainly gives you a different feel for it - it makes me nervous just looking at it.

Does anyone have any clue when the next unit will be delivered? Also does anyone know what route it'll take?
To big an order for Stadler in the time period and would also have needed a separate design with more doors...Dare I say the whole order should have gone to our Swiss friends [dives for cover].
The 720s will go into proper construction when the 345 production finishes soonUnderway, there's footage of one at Derby but I don't think it's been seen out and about yet. I don't imagine much time is being spent on 720s while the 710s are so problematic. When they get that solved and volume production of 345s starts ramping down I imagine we'll see a few appear and one end up out on tests. Frankly at the moment the originally proposed entry into service of March is not happening I can almost guarantee you, it'll be more like late Autumn 2019 / early 2020 I imagine before we see any in revenue service. Unless anything goes severely wrong with the Stadler unit testing, they will be in service well before the 720s.
It's also a good idea not to be reliant on just one supplier. The 720s will go into proper construction when the 345 production finishes soon

Here’s the Class 720 thread: https://www.railforums.co.uk/thread...technical-discussion-and-introduction.158396/
Its in the timetable to run every Thursday, but will be a 'Q' path of course. You never know ......

Yes! In fact I thought GA should've ordered from Siemens since they aren't building anything besides the small batch of 717s. German build quality and a nice aerodynamic nose would've been great. I think instead of doing a 5 and 10 car railway GA should've stuck with the 4, 8, 12 - less costly and stick to what you know for infrastructure purposes.Dare I say the whole order should have gone to our Swiss friends [dives for cover].
Desiro City build quality seems to much worse than the original Desiro. Also, the Stadler Flirts I've been on in other counties are on par if not better than anything Siemens.Yes! You know that Stadler is from Switzerland, right? The country known for their excellent precision engineering skills, such as watchmaking?German build quality
given the debacle with siemens over the state of 700's/717's it's not surprising.Yes! mechanically they are not bad(now....there were lots of firmware problems to begin with), but the final fit-out is abysmal.
doesn't even equate to economy class, more like steerage.
The last time I used the 319s was nearly 20 years ago in South London. The seats were appalling, no legroom at all, sitting opposite anyone forced you to clash knees.I would sooner take a 319 from bedford to brighton,at least they don't leave you with back ache..

Here here. And also when it comes to DfT specifications, why is it so hard for the so vocal British public to understand this? You can't blame Siemens for the rubbish seating layout/seats, and boring colour scheme, that's customer specified.
There should never be any passengers carried in the DVT, wheelchair or not.
Wouldn't be the DVT mate as passengers are not permitted to be carried in there. Would it have been the small passenger accommodation on the brake van on the short hauled set that operates on local services to Yarmouth/Lowestoft?
No, she was just carried in the vestibule as no FOD in the set from what I understand. Never in the DVT.Assuming this is the aforementioned incident?

I think the comment you replied to was intended to be comparing Siemens build quality to Bombardier, not to Stadler. That's probably more fair.Desiro City build quality seems to much worse than the original Desiro.
