On my travels this weekend, I noted that the PIS at Deansgate and Manchester Oxford Road had a bit of trouble saying the first few words of each announcement. (Or atleast I think so)
Eg "Five for the 1344 Northern service to Liverpool Lime Street"
"Safety and comfort, smoking is not permitted at this station"
"Train to depart from platform 2....."
etc etc.
Anyone know why this happens, and if it's worthy of being fixed?

It has been like that for quite a while, I'm not sure why but it often sounds like the speaker is on "idle" mode until sound starts, but it doesn't switch on quite quickly enough! This is backed up when two announcements are made in a sequence and it doesn't cut anything off.

The same thing used to happen at Blackfriars a few years back.

Something similar has recently started happening sometimes on the Class 465s with announcements like"...n is High Brooms"
