Any new loco hauled stock?

I think there will not be any more loco-hauled passenger services in the near future because the last places where they operate are Intercity services and over the past 10 years, they are increaseily done by EMUs and DMUs, when the Intercity 225s and 125s are withdrawn, they would be all but gone

The only realistic possibility of new LHCS is the replacements for the Scottish sleeper services.
After a 'scare' that they were for the chop (due partly to the age of the existing stock), money has now miraculously been found for the service to continue with 'new' stock, but there is still some debate as to whether it will be enough for a sufficient quantity of brand new coaches. A mix of new and refurbished stock seems possible. A reduction in the number of services/length of trains is another possibility.

OMG - just come across the sleeper thread...
MU sleepers?
