I was emailed requesting my details in order to take the tests. Sent them off and yet to receive a reply back. Anyone got a email that I can contact. Both the emails I contacted have returned as undeliverable.

I’ve been invited for first round of assessments next week (although not had confirmed day) HOWEVER I am already training under a different TOC. Anyone know if I take the test and fail - does that affect my current position? Arriva would be preference as depot is very close to home.

Are you sure. I am an ex overground driver and on my first assessment day we had a lad in the same boat. He was taking the Arriva assessment but was training with Thameslink and was told by the OPC staff on the day that it would.

If you've already started training why would you leave and start somewhere else, stay where you are, get your key and then think about moving once the time is allowed to move post qualified.
I know its closer but there's no guarantee you'll get the other job and even of you do it could be months before you get an offer in which case you'd probably be on traction etc and its not something you'd want to do all again.

Won't look good also imo to any prospective company if you're already in training with one TOC and before even completion you abandon it for another to start all over again. TOCs spend a decent amount training and preparing staff so as Class2ldn says, It would be better to stay where you are at and become post qualified before looking out. Just looks better too CV wise.

Yeahh of course it would take a life away from you but it wouldn’t affect your training where they would take you off the course

That’s some good advice

I have my OPC assessment 2nd stage tomorrow for Arriva. I had also applied with Southern - GTR and taken the online miniSCAAT test I have however been emailed today that I have not met the required criteria with GTR and that I would have to wait 6 months before applying for this role again, does anyone know if would this affect my ongoing process with Arriva?

Probably best to ask the OPC , although as overground don't use mini scaat you should be ok.

Hi all!

So I’ve received an email asking me to call someone back regarding my OPC assessment update. I saw it too late so will have to call them tomorrow. What should I expect from this phone call? Assuming I have failed?

Thanks!!!!

Don't assume anything. Although it's not gospel , quite often it used to be that an email was sent if you were unsuccessful and a phone call if successful. However I have never heard of an email to ask you to call. Might be to book an interview if you have done all the assessments. Either way I hope it's good news for you.

Will do stage 1 tomorrow, let’s see what’s going on.

Is it possible to take stage 2 on Saturday as I don’t wanna spend more annual leave for test?

I still haven't heard anything from my application, I'm guessing I have been lost somewhere??

I've also been waiting to hear the outcome of Stage 1 assessments. Haven't heard anything yet. I guess it's just a waiting game :)

Has anyone taken their 2nd stage assessments yet? I'm curious if the VSE test during the 2nd stage is exactly the same as the one we were sent initially to be done at home.
