Train has apparently hit a cow at Woldingham!

Yes the East Grinstead train in front of the 18:06 LBG to UCK service hit a cow just short of Woldingham. He went on to Woldingham to check for damage. In the meantime the Uckfield service behind had to stop because the cow was injured and now in the way of the Uckfield service. Slightly surprisingingly the up services werent cautioned and one went belting past the stationary Uckfield service using his horn, whilst the driver of the UCK service was making an announcement. You could tell the driver was not impressed!

We then had to wait for Network Rail to come out and move the injured cow out the way so got to Crowborough 1 hour 10 minutes late.

Up until then the service hadn't been too bad with only the 13:04, 16:04 and 17:08 from LBG cancelled.

There is a rumour that one 171 is in Willesden having cameras fitted. Dont know if that is true, and if it is how it fits with the ASLEF agreement not to expand DOO operation.
