The plan when there were lots to do was to diagram at least 3 sets to finish at Edge Hill on a Friday evening, so there was always a back up if something changed during the day, however now the list is getting smaller its not possible to do that so if a set arrives on Thursday evening it may stay there on Friday so its in the right place. This of course depends on availiable units and cancellations.

I can confirm 221115 is stabled for handback procedures. Not confirmed that it's going to XC but it is the most likely cause.

390049 departed Alstom Widnes this morning (16/03/24) post-refurbishment. It has been replaced at Widnes by 390008.
There are now only 6 unrefurbished sets remaining in service;
390002, 390010, 390013, 390020, 390042 and 390046

That's the current ETA for them, but even if they don't enter service in June, one unit is already about to go off lease. Annoyingly this often happens with fleet changes, WMT have lost a few 323s despite the fact that 730s haven't started on any 323 routes, they've currently replaced 319/350 duties. Also the XC HST withdrawal.

Sod’s law would have it that my planned train was cancelled, and the alternative is operated by an unrefurbished 390002.

One thing I will miss about the Virgin interior is the rather warm ambience, even though the interior is dated, the lighting is pretty soft and relaxing (especially when some of the bulbs are out).

Surprisingly everything is still in working order, plugs and the little table lamps, even the recline is good.

Also as from last there are now 50 x 390's diagramed out in the pm peak to cover for the loss of the 3 x 221's going off lease. Plus a few other bits of diagram tweeking.

Are a few Voyager diagrams now booked 5 car instead of 10?

On 390002 today so it’s still working unrefurbished
