Does anyone have plans or a link to plans for the final layout of Bletchley after the remodelling is completed? The work seems to have picked up pace in the last few weeks but I have yet to find an actual impression of what's going to change. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I found a written description of the work in the CP4 enhancement plans, there doesn't seem to be a great deal in passenger areas that will look much different. Hope it helps anyway:

Is the carriage sidings still in use? I thought this work had gone to the Siemens facility at Northampton.

Will the changes allow Bedford St John's & Midland to be accessed from Milton Keynes Central without the need for changing trains?

The driver would still need to swap ends, there won't be a direct link.

London Midland have said they expect direct Bedford-MKC services by 2013 - it seems to me these works would make that possible by allowing ex-Bedford services to run into platform 3 and out of platform 4... The remodelling and capacity issues on the WCML were their reasons for not doing it sooner.

Are these expected to be more popular? It's a baby step towards E/W rail I suppose!

How did the vegetation clearing go on the line towards Bicester?

I'm pretty sure that a direct Milton Keynes - Bedford link will drastically improve the fortunes of the Marston Vale line. It's just a shame that trains will have to reverse at Bletchley. However, I really can't see an alternative given the siting of Bletchley station.

Just comparing the drawing with the text I quoted above, I reckon NR have made a typo in their description.

    This line:

"the Drayton Road Junction will allow an Up Slow to Up Fast and parallel Down Slow to Down Fast move"

Doesn't actually make sense. Should it really end with:

"...an Up Slow to Up Fast and parallel Down Fast to Down Slow move"
