Guessing some sort of joke? Lol
Last time I tried to get to Eastleigh station I ended up quite lost, but that's in the past.

As for the tour itself Ciftonville Spur, isn't that the curve used by the rough half hourly London - littlehampton trains so in terms of track it's not that rare, unless I'm missing something (haven't got my trackmap to double check). Cost of the tour is putting me off a little bit, but that's the going rate for tours it seems (at a guess with the pick up/set down points I will probably board at Basingstoke and set alight at Eastleigh (unless Southampton is a better connection for something back to Basingstoke/Salisbury).

Yes, that is the one. Not rare at all but possibly something people not from the area don't traverse regularly.

The only 'rare' track seems to be the Newhaven Marine spur. However, most of the lines involved would be very rare for loco-haulage these days.

The up siding at Ore - ie the former up line beyond the platform where the track is singled, used to recess stock is also rare in the sense it isn't somewhere trains go with passengers.

The stock moves from Burton on Trent to Eastleigh the day before and is open to 128 passengers at a price of £50 travelling via Birmingham, Worcester, Oxford, Reading and Basingstoke. Tickets available on the BLS fixtures page.

Must be GBRf crewed, cant see many drivers signing many of those lines and class 50s. Just hope 50008 doesn't fail it's fitness to run this time (as opposed to thunder vac to faversham)

This sounds better than the tour!

It probably is! The issue is which 50 works this as only one of them works, the other is on the back the whole way.

The problem with a day trip on the Sussex Coast is coming up behind stoppers all day (although there are some less encumbered bits later in the day).

Is it not one 50 from Burton to Worcester Shrub Hill and then the other from the Class 50 Alliance drops on the back there and then leads? I went on a 50 tour using their 50’s once and that’s where they materialised.

There isn't a reversal at Worcester though. It seems more likely the 50 from Kidderminster would go to Leicester LIP, meet up with 50008 and then both go to Burton. It appears from comment on the wnxx forum that they haven't decided which 50 will lead.

Okay, I still don’t think you can complain for £50 (people will though)

ToT Class 50's sandwiching a pair of Southern 313's to bow them out of service before scrapping <D <D :D :D
It would be nice if Southern (with or without any outside group) could run a farewell tour for the 313s... Lots of sidings around Brighton/Bognor region it can visit! :) Sorry to go O/T.

It's shown as a series of separate trains with different reporting numbers, no doubt due to the number of reversals en route.

Have a look at 1Z40, 08 11 Portsmouth & Southsea-Bognor Regis, for example. It arrives at Portsmouth & Southsea from Eastleigh as 1Z38.

Timings are on RTT for the 'Honeybourne Hoover', 1030 5Z49 Burton OT Wetmore to Burton OT and 1102 1Z50 to Eastleigh, but at this time there are no schedules whatsoever for either of the locos arriving at Burton Wetmore, 50007 seems to be at Kidderminster and 50008 at Chinnor

1102 1Z50 'Honeybourne Hoover' left Burton on time, 50008 leading 50007

No problems with 1Z50 and the stock is in Eastleigh for tomorrows 'Ore No More'
