Hi,

I know that if you buy tickets from a ticket office you need to show your railcard, even if purchasing in advance. My grandparents (both have Senior railcards) are heading across to Germany on Saturday but will be travelling to St Pancras first. They'd rather buy the tickets tomorrow than on Saturday morning but will my grandmother actually have to be with us tomorrow to buy the tickets or will just her railcard suffice?

I suppose failing that we could opt for Ticket on Departure online and still collect them tomorrow but it's useful to know.

If you have her Railcard with you then I don't envisage any problem. In the unlikely event that you are refused, simply shop around if you can or try on another day when someone else is on shift. Most staff are understanding and should have no problem once you have explained the situation.
