And they can stop at Barking now, can they?
Looks like they're also running to Grays! The 1707 Depature from Fenchurch which is 2R48 and operated by 720611. Also calling at Barking which I believe means they've fixed the issues then with Barking previously?I believe it's first time they've worked via Tilbury, first time they've worked outside the peaks, first time they've worked alone as 5 car and first time they've worked on a weekend, so all in all, quite significant!
Seems so as the Grays and Shoeburyness via Tilbury are stopping there. And they can stop at Barking now, can they?

Ah interesting, thought this was the first time they had carried passengers as 5 cars, hopefully this is an indication of an eventual further increase in their usage and as has been mentioned, means the Barking issues have been resolved (although I did wonder whether that might have had anything to do with them running as 5 cars rather than 10 and therefore stopping in a different location on the platform?) I'm sure someone will be able to either confirm or disregard that theoryThey have worked as 5 car preciously. Most days for the last few weeks they have been running 5 cars on the 0957 Shoeburyness - Fenchurch Street and return at 1134 for driver runs. They also did some late night runs around their first introduction on loop trains into Liverpool Street.
First time they have run on the weekends though.
612 was out this morning however it failed with door issues on one of the first trains this morning.
I think during the overtime ban they aren't used as not all drivers are trained to drive them.At one O'Clock this morning I spied four pairs of 720/6s on RTT for this mornings services.
Just checked and there were not four pairs yesterday morning.
Still only two pairs in the afternoon though.
Arrivals into Fenchurch Street are :-
1B15 07:21 from Leigh-on-Sea arrives at 08:09 720601 + 720612,
2R69 07:03 from Southend Central arrives at 08:18 720602 + 720605,
1B21 07:71 from Thorpe Bay arrives at 08:30 720610 + 720611,
1B39 07:39 from Shoeburyness arrives 08:44 720606 + 720609.
Looks like no 720/6s out today (Monday 29/01/2024).
Wonder why ?.
Maybe keeping it simple on/around strike days.
I think that's right... the 17.16 and 17.43 are showing as 8* and 12 car 357 respectively today.I think during the overtime ban they aren't used as not all drivers are trained to drive them.
Showing on RTT as just 7206011758 Fenchurch - Shoeburyness 1900, 10 coaches instead of 12 tonight. Not sure of units or the reason for this but appears on journey check

RTT now showing as 720601 & 720605 so source system must have just been updated.Showing on RTT as just 720601
The difference in software causes the brakes not to release on one of the units and other issues if 2 trains are coupled with the different software updates.2 units out today on Fenchurch Street - Shoeburyness via Ockendon, 612 and another however allocations aren’t coming up.
612 however has just failed at Grays been sat here for over 20 minutes with the pan down.
they do have a sticker in the cab window with a blue triangle which reads:
“ONLY COUPLE UP IF BOTH UNITS HAVE THIS SIGN DISPLAYED”
“This unit is fitted with TCMS Software 2.2.12”
Or something along those lines it’s difficult to read, any ideas what this relates to?
Not many on weekdays. A look at RTT for yesterday shows that a peak time 10-car splits for two 5-car off-peak workings between Shoeburyness and Fenchurch Street. The other 720 workings are peak only. Are there now regular off-peak workings to / from Fenchurch St - and are these 5 / 10 car workings? Many thanks
Many thanks Jonathan - that's really helpful. Not many on weekdays. A look at RTT for yesterday shows that a peak time 10-car splits for two 5-car off-peak workings between Shoeburyness and Fenchurch Street. The other 720 workings are peak only.

There are seven single 720s out today on Fenchurch Street to Shoeburyness via Ockendon services today.
You're looking at April there, Know Your Train allocations usually only start showing up at 1 or 2am on the day in question, it'd be incredibly hard, if not impossible, to know which units would be running which services this far in advance. When I look at RTT, I don't get the final column with number of carriages (see link below), and I can't see a way to switch it on - how's it done, please?

I nailed all 7 single units today for haulage operating on their own diagrams today. Like shooting fish in a barrel. Not many on weekdays. In my tenure the Ockendon services were too busy for a 4-car but didn't really justify an 8-carAny reason why they are diagrammed on services via Ockenden rather than the main line?
