I'm not sure where to find the origin/destination 4-digit codes if I have no industry software.

Can you tell me what it is for Zone U12* Londn in case I have a problematic ticket seller at Limehouse Lts tomorrow?

Dont have Avantix to hand so cant confirm, but I THINK it's 0790 - someone else will be along to confirm Im sure

Theres no easy way of finding them out unfortunately without Avantix - which is publicly available, albeit at a cost :)
