Can anyone in the know, tell me if the 19.03 Preston (x Glasgow C) was cancelled on Saturday evening. I'm sure I got my times right, but there was no 'cancelled' indication. Was it due to earlier wire problems at Crewe?

According to opentraintimes there is an 1859 arrival which comes from Glasgow, but it terminates at Preston. The next southbound Virgin Trains service is the 1927 to Birmingham New Street.

From National Rail Website about Saturday :

From 11:35 - services on the London Euston - Glasgow Central route will run between Preston and Glasgow Central only. Passengers should travel to Crewe and change for connecting buses between Crewe and Preston

From 13:45 buses will run between Crewe, Warrington Bank Quay, Wigan North Western and Preston

Same next weekend.

The train that would have left at 19.03 terminated at Preston this weekend due to planned engineering works. (The 19.27 was cancelled throughout as a result of the Crewe OHL problems.)

And for the same diverts on 30th Feb 2013:

All services between Preston and Crewe are diverted via Manchester with extended journey times. Passengers to/from Warrington or Wigan will be able to use Northern Rail and TP Express services at no extra cost. Diverted trains will call at Salford Crescent for the convenience of intermediate passengers. A full first class meal service will operate throughout the weekend.

Salford Crescent isn't long enough for a Pendo is it?

Or are all the through trains Voyagers?
