This weekend and next, the Central Line is closed Ealing Broadway/West Ruislip to White City.

Does anyone know what is actually going on? I've heard a little traffic up hear near West Ruislip, but not much happening at this end.

(And has anyone suggested to TfL that a little better explanation than "planned upgrade work" might actually be more customer friendly, e.g. "signalling work" or "track work" helps us understand what is going on)

I suspect that would not provide much useful information for the average traveller - and could worry them about the state the signals/track must be in.

The weekly Line & Station Closures email states:

"Trains will not run between White City and Ealing Broadway/West Ruislip while we install new drainage in the Acton area and replace points at Northolt."
