Central line - shortage of serviceable trains

In a few weeks time I need to take a group from Holborn to Theydon Bois and back on a Saturday.

Should we allow extra time for our journey given the rolling stock shortage, or are we likely to be OK on a Saturday?

Live departures from Holborn today (a Saturday) at 11 am show a constant drip of Epping services.

I would certainly allow a modest amount of extra time, both to account for extended intervals between trains, and also the possibility that trains will be more crowded as a result.

This issue is likely to go on for months or even years, though there is a special reduced timetable imminent which should regularise things a bit.

However this timetable is only going to apply Mondays to Thursdays (coming into effect this Monday, 26th February), which means unfortunately for the time being extended gaps on Fridays and Saturdays particularly.

Especially today..

Central Line: NO SERVICE between Leytonstone, Epping and Hainault via Woodford while we fix a signal failure at Woodford. GOOD SERVICE on the rest of the line. London Underground tickets are being accepted London Buses via any reasonable route.

Failed again also yesterday - it seems the Woodford area is becoming abit of an operational headache

"Good service" for the 53 train reduced timetable introduced last week.
“Good Service” again today.

Luckily I was only going back & forth between central and Stratford but even for that the combination of reduced timetable and multiple speed restrictions has added about 5 minutes to the journey time vs before this mess.

Is there a speed restriction the whole way from Mile End to Stratford?

That section has trains drifting leisurely along all the way, and they cannot be being checked by a train in front!

There is a speed restriction the entire way both roads between Stratford and Mile End.

On the westbound there's one point where it'll go to the appropriate target speed for the section, but it quickly brakes back down to 35KPH
