Agree with other posters about XC livery not being too bad but 100% Voyagers need a refresh.....similar to Avanti would be nice IMO. In an ideal world I want the Voyagers replaced, never liked them, certainly not for 2+ hour journeys.....

Obvs GBR (pending legislation) doesn't look like it is going to overhaul TOC branding/identity in any significant way to begin with but I wonder how the potential of that affects any TOC investment in branding/train vinyls? Surely there is a cost somewhere of design and implementation so I assume they would feel it is worth it for the medium term?

I do like the latest one on buses tbh, see the pics in the article here: https://www.northwalespioneer.co.uk/news/23296746.new-fleet-12-arriva-wales-buses-launched-bangor/

It's the transport for Wales one I was thinking of - but my main issue with that livery was the use of cream which I thought looked awful with the turquoise.

The revised Arriva Trains Wales livery as carried by the refurbished 158's was quite a nice combination of various shades of turquoise, loosing the cream, which I believe Arriva refereed to as Cotswold Stone, was a big improvement.

This could work on the voyagers, if done right.

170s need the seats sorted as the ones on this 170 I travelled on from New Street to South Wigston was in a tired state. Cabt upload the photo as its too large but there was chunks taken out of the armrests and sides of the seats themselves

I used one all the way from Birmingham to Cambridge on Thursday. My seat back table top was missing and many armrests were the same. The panels were grubby. But the padding was deep and the seat contours hugged my back lovingly, and were perfectly fine for three hours.

Unfortunately we all know when they're refurbished, all that will be dealt with but the seats will be replaced with something infinitely less comfortable...

The XC 170s are one of the most comfortable trains on the network I find, the issue is they are worked so hard that it's no surprise they are not in the best of conditions.

Agree, along with the SWR 458s they are some of the comfiest seats in my opinion. Shame they are so shabby, something always seems to be broken.

Seats might be comfortable (though well worn in) but leg room is awful.

Is it XC that have the original Midland Mainline ones that really crammed the seats in in the middle section? If so perhaps a row needs to come out. Chiltern 168s are super-spacious with a 10 row layout mostly aligned to the 5 windows (would need to be 9 on one side for a luggage stack). I seem to recall ScotRail's are similar.

XC have changed the seating layouts since MM days.
