Almost certainly. Southeastern allow bikes on all their trains except Monday to Friday on services arriving in London between 07:00 and 09:59 and those leaving London between 16:00 and 18:59. Folded cycles can be carried at any time.

Sorry, I don't know anything about the acceptance of bikes on the ship with this ticket.

Yes, it's an Anytime Day Return, valid at any time on the date shown on the ticket (and until 04:30 next day).

Yes, the ticket is valid at any time on the day you choose.

The ticket office should be able to issue it no problems.

The train should be able to accept your bikes, but will the ferry? I'm not too sure it will...

P&O allow you to book a bicycle as your 'vehicle' on their Dover-Calais route so they can definitely take bikes on the ferry. Not sure if it would be included in your ticket though. Might be best to ring them - 01304 864008 - as there isn't much on their website.

Adinkerke is something like 40 miles from Calais, and it can be pretty windy along the coast.
You can apparently get a train to Dunkerque, and then a bus from there.

Do those fares definitely have a railcard discount? (brfares seems to say they don't).

You can book a day trip directly with p&o for £13 each, either with a bicycle or on foot. A lot of the time you can get them for £1 by using a link from the daily mail website (not at the moment, though, it seems).

Yes. See the 1 September 2010 post on this page from wintonian in the Rail-Sea-Rail Tickets thread. The absence of the Railcard discount fares from the NFM CDs (and now also from brfares.com) is a long-standing error.

"London (Not HS1)" has been replaced by "London" in the current and NFM 13 (Sep-Dec 2012) editions of "The Manual".

We are now going tomorrow, buying the tickets in a while from Gillingham for Chatham; hopefully going to be a good day! does anyone know if there's much to do in Calais, to occupy ourselves for the whole day?

There is CityEurope shopping centre on the edge of town, which I think there is a bus too. Alternativley, take a train to Lille where there is lots to see and do.

Do you know how much trains to Lille are?

Trains to Lille are around EUR 20. There is a fair bit to do in Calais.. if the weather is nice there is quite a nice sandy beach just a few mins outside the town centre (the ferry will go past it on its way into the harbour).

Have a great day. Word of warning at Calais depending on the tide the ramp can be very steep for boarding and disembarking from the ferry, if they don't do the bus that drives onto the ferry. At Dover not so much. If you do need assistance in boarding ie a mini bus to drive onto the ship and park next to a lift ask P&O in Dover. they will make you a reservation for your return crossing too

If they use the walkway at Dover, then there is a lift instead of walking up all the ramps (I didn't see it first time, it was only the second trip when I followed a couple of regulars!)
It might be a bit windy for the beach, but it is quite nice.

If you are coming back lateish, the buses to Dover Station stop before the ferries do. And they don't wait if the ferry is late.
