Chelmsford to West Kensington Commute

What would be the cheapest ticket option for someone travelling from Chelmsford to West Kensington Monday to Friday 9-5pm be? I have a railcard but otherwise would it be better to get a season ticket or are there any other options? Thanks in advance

You you have to be at work for 9am or is that the time you're starting your journey from Chelmsford?

If you have an 18-25 or 26-30, then the fare to London is well over the morning peak minimum.
It's £26.30 Anytime Day Return to any station in Zones 1-5.
This compares with £157/week for a Travelcard Season, so about £5/day difference though the extra £25 gives you weekend travel and unlimited travel in Zones 1-6.

(There are ways of tweaking season tickets to your advantage, as you can specify their exact period from 1 month upwards. Someone may know of something cheaper....)

I need to be at West kensington before 9 am.

I have a 26-30 railcard.

Includes one return Underground/DLR journey in London Zones 1–5 to get you to/from West Kensington (but isn't a Travelcard).

That would be £138/week as opposed to the £157.10/week Travelcard season and only £6.50/week more than the discounted Day Returns to/from Zone 1-5.

West Kensington is in Zone 2 so a Chelmsford to Zone U12 London will suffice. Cost with 26-30 Railcard is £24.05.

There are even cheaper variants, but then the OP would have to avoid travelling through Zone 1, which would make the journey itinerary much less flexible.
