Hi all,

First of all, sorry if this is the wrong area to post this. Please move it if needed.

Next week on Tuesday (11th), Thursday (13th) and Friday (14th) im am off work and fancy doing some filming/photographing of trains on the Chiltern Mainline just south of Leamington (Bishops Itchington). What would be the best day to go (and any particular time)? I am mainly after freights, track machines, special workings etc. I know nothing is ever certain in the freight world, but any help and advice would be great.

Also, is there a set time to see the 67/DVTs? For example do they run 1 an hour, or do they just fill the gaps between 165/168s where needed.

Thanks in advance

Andrew

Not normally, but freight on that particular line is very reliable/predictable
(if only all lines were like that!!! :) )

So as long as you avoid Mondays, freight traffic is very similar
from one weekday to the next.

[obligatory plug]
If you are interested, Freightmaster online features timetables
for both Leamington Spa and Banbury
, both of which list the
loco-hauled Chiltern services in addition to all freights.

prices start from £12...

My friend uses the freight master timetables mentioned above and they are very useful, kept up-to-date as well.
