A bit late this month, but the following LO units were not seen on my travels in November.
315805 But seen today failed in platform 1 at Liverpool St
315817, but seen on 4th December
315858, went for scrap on 18/11/19 I believe.
317709, but seen on 3rd December.

315822/827 which have replaced 315814/858 have been noted on quite a few occasions, but always coupled together.

804 as above. 825/831/836 in from Northampton last week to replace/cover new TT.
The 1722 Liverpool St to Cheshunt and return is no longer worked by the AGA 317 that does the 1907 to King's Lynn. Instead the units come from Chingford and return to Chingford. I guess this means that LO requires an extra pair of units.

315804 is now making its one way trip behind 37800 to Newport Docks for scrapping. First of the ‘angry eye’ headlight ones to be scrapped too.

Tbh I am very sad to see 804 go as this was the first 315 I got to go on back in July 2015. Went on it from Seven Sisters to Hackney Downs and must say I enjoyed the journey on it!

Think about those of us for whom 315s have been their main traction ever since they were born :P

I still recall the first time I saw the refurbished units back in the FGE days when they wore the plain dark blue livery and still had yellow doorway areas despite having gone through the refurbishment. Somehow the TfL refurbishment didn't seem quite so exciting with the 345s only a couple of years thereafter...

I was just about to ask, did LO pick up an extra unit from TfL Rail? They only started with 17 units didn’t they.

Is northampton due for more in time, and will the current 5 (correct me if wrong) be staying or moving soon?

only the two left currently at Northampton - the others are now in service. may see a rotation of units and other LO units parked there in due course.

315816 continues to operate in service, but will be the next to be removed form service - feb time currently.

According to Wikipedia, London Overground are down to 16 units. How many Class 710/1 units have entered service?

Also, is it still planned for London Overground to retain a pair of 315s for the Romford-Upminster?

I thought it was only one unit, not a pair?

Warm runs from northampton due for tomorrow? Why.. what’s the reason or cause for change, they’re usually Monday?

Also I see there’s is 3, but I assumed only 1 remained at Northampton

During December I saw all the LO units bar 315831 & 317729/891. 315804 was seen in service on the 11th November before going for scrap on the 16th. Like some of the 313's beforehand it looks like this one went straight out of service for scrap.
I make it 19 x 315's and 14 x 317's in LO service now. A total of 33, two extra to cover the two GA 317's that are no longer hired in after the December timetable changes.

Sure 315831 was at Northampton, still or not I can’t comment.

With the Crossrail delay announcement, any update on replacing the 315s by shortened 345s

I assume many of them are going to need major maintenance if they were kept another 2 years, and any cost of removing and storing 2 cars of some more 345s must be negligible in comparison to work on 315s. Surely when the 345s were sold and leased back rental payments would start so why pay rental on these and pay to maintain the 315s at same time

I would have thought withdrawals would speed up now to complete changeover
with those in best condition (perhaps that should be less bad condition) covering on the West Anglia services instead of their worse ones seems likely.

One caveat is not yet clear on the Liverpool Street platform lengthening, and some would have been kept to cover Liverpool Street peak extras around the transition. However it now seems that even when the tunnel section opens may be a phased opening of connecting to it both ends. Not sure if Liverpool Street (platform 16-18) gets sorted during this phasing
