Class 321 Preservation

There's not a whole lot of choice for a 321 to preserve anymore...

Besides the ten owned by Varamis Rail and the last few Renatus units awaiting their fate, only two coaches from 332 (now owned by Network Rail for training purposes) and Eastern Rail Services 321434 survive

It depends. If there’s a Scottish group after one then yes 320 but the 321s are so deeply associated with the Great Eastern that I doubt the East Anglian Railway Museum or a group of that kind would accept a 320.

I'm surprised there were more calls for saving a 315 than a 321. The 315s were only associated with the Great Eastern, whereas 321s had much larger area of operation given their use in Yorkshire, on the southern WCML as far as Birmingham, and even briefly on the southern ECML.

Yes but they will always be mostly associated with the GE, for most of their lifespan.

We had a scheme to preserve 321440 in 2023 however we had to cancel this after the site we had lined up became unavailable.

321334 is in storage at Eastern Rail Services, Gt Yarmouth. Used for hire and filming contracts.

All "Classic" units are either now scrapped or with Varamis Rail, including 440.
