Or ‘SC’ for Craigentinny based power cars.As mentioned above, the power cars always carried their own numbers, with either the W or E prefix in the early days.

Edited to provide the statement source.
Are any prices and tickets available yet or will that be tomorrow
Yes, and they were classified as 43s in order to avoid renumbering them.

Yes - I can well remember seeing 253s in the early days with different numbers at each end - just couldn’t remember how long before the penny dropped that the 43xxx number was the one that matteredMy recollection is that when HST’s first appeared, the intention was to operate sets in fixed formations. This was the reason for the classification 253 & 254.
It didn’t take long for reality to set in that keeping each set as a fixed rake impacted overall availability, so to be more flexible, with power car swaps etc, the unit designations were quietly dropped.

Does anyone know what time the tickets will go on sale at?
They said they hope to announce confirmed timing with fares today so maybe they're only releasing the timings on RTT today and fares later. I hope not though.Anyone have any updates on tickets going on sale?
Feel like its looking unlikely for today.

Must be some form of hold up with the fares - presume this is on LNER's side.
