I now have mixed feelings about this as some of the Basingstoke stoppers are now 444s rather than 450s :D

In 2005 I was lucky enough to have recorded the class 442's operating from Bournemouth to Brockenhurst.

These recordings captured many characteristics required for a OO scale model using ESU LokSound technology.

Including:

The whining characteristics of the ex 4-REP traction motors,
Door operating and warning bleepers.
Air Conditioning and Air Compressors.
etc...

However, I have no recordings for Air Horns used on the class 442.

Q: Can anybody advise whether the Cl442 air horns are used by any other train type?

Q: Does anybody have any good sound recordings of the 442's?
