Wasn't the Hackney Downs issue debunked earlier in this thread?

In any case trimming a bit off a platform is hardly unprecedented.

Because there are several issues with the 745s that GA or Stadler would never admit to. Oh and plus the fact they won't fit through Hackney Downs fast line platforms means you will probably never see them on the Stansteds
Then why haven't Network Rail done it yet?In any case trimming a bit off a platform is hardly unprecedented.

And the test run used the suburban lines through Hackney, not the fasts.
You mean Plat 3 is Southbound slow and Plat 1 is Southbound fast.Platform 3 is the Up Suburban Platform rather than the Up Fast.
Please don't encourage the mods to create a fourth thread!I see testing continued with another 745 to the Stansted last night. Not sure if 745/1 stuff belongs on here as this thread is titled (Inter city trains) even though lots of posts about airport units.
I just cannot get my head around why there is a need for anything other than class 745 & class 755.Please don't encourage the mods to create a fourth thread!
It looks like 745s went through Hackney Downs platforms 1 and 2 OK last night.
Yes, it now looks like a commuter fleet of shorter 745s might have entered service quicker than the Bombardier 720s!I just cannot get my head around why there is a need for anything other than class 745 & class 755.
I take it you are winding me up?Yes, it now looks like a commuter fleet of shorter 745s might have entered service quicker than the Bombardier 720s!
Either that or they didn't realise you were talking about threads not trains!I take it you are winding me up?
I thought dk1 was talking about trains. The thread titles need something other than two easily-confused numbers in them if we are going to have multiple threads for them. Does anyone know why the Flirts were not given consecutive class numbers like the AT300s?Either that or they didn't realise you were talking about threads not trains!

My understanding at a Greater Anglia Bicycle forum about this time last year was that the Stansted Express services will have an official bicycle capacity of 0 - which is what they have now. I'd interpreted that as meaning the units wouldn't be fitted with bike spaces.Continuing from https://www.railforums.co.uk/thread...-regional-trains.148431/page-151#post-4307809
It looks like the black triangle indicates the wheelchair end of the train on StanEx Flirt 745104but both halves contain bike spaces (green stripes) - so maybe space for 18 bikes on there, or at least less conflict with large luggage.
makes me think that 745003 has only one bike space with the wheelchair space and first class all on the black triangle end. It seems a strange decision to have fewer bike spaces on the Norwich units but I think strange decisions about bikes is usual for NS!
Well it has green stripes on it and that means bikes in 745/0 and 755. Has anyone a clearer picture of the relevant bit of a 745/1?My understanding at a Greater Anglia Bicycle forum about this time last year was that the Stansted Express services will have an official bicycle capacity of 0 - which is what they have now. the video is from May- as the stripes are just vinyl, it's possible they were still testing the markings. We'll see when passengers can get on board and check them out! Possibly do have a (flexible) bike space for when they're on the Norwich express.Well it has green stripes on it and that means bikes in 745/0 and 755. I checked the greater anglia website and on the 12 car Stansted express layout it has 6 spots for bikesthe video is from May- as the stripes are just vinyl, it's possible they were still testing the markings. So probably 18 bikes. With the 6-bike Norwich services running through to Stansted, that does at least mitigate the pathetic single 3 or 4 bike space on the 10-car Aventras but that is still a big reduction from Cambridge if they cannot use the vestibules.I checked the greater anglia website and on the 12 car Stansted express layout it has 6 spots for bikes
10 of each variant. How many 745s are actually in the fleet...?
Oh I don't know if they've all been delivered yet..I think I saw on a thread a week or so back that there are only a couple left to deliver.Wow, so all of them have been delivered...? @dk1 made the same claim for the 755s.
