We next move to Wales for the next journey.....

This is number 603 in the series so far.....

The journey starts at the closed station of Old Ynysybwl Halt
It follows the line of the TVR Ynysybwl Branch Line
It then follows the line of the Pontypridd, Caerphilly and Newport Railway
It then follows the line of the PC&N Machen Loop Line...via Waterloo Halt
It then follows the line of the Brecon and Merthyr Junction Railway
It then follows the line of the Monmouthshire Railway and Canal Company
It then follows the line of the GWR Gloucester to Newport Line
It then follows the line of the Bristol and Gloucester Railway
It then follows the line of the Bristol and North Somerset Railway...via the Camerton loop line
It then follows the line of the Wilts, Somerset and Weymouth Railway
It then follows the line of the LSWR West of England Main Line
It then follows the line of the Budleigh Salterton Railway
It then follows the line of the LSWR Exmouth to Exeter Line
It then follows the line of the LSWR West of England Main Line
It then follows the line of the Bristol and Exeter Railway
It then follows the line of the Exe Valley Railway
It then follows the line of the Devon and Somerset Railway
It then follows the line of the Barnstaple to Torrington Branch Line....beware of three heritage stations
It then follows the line of the North Devon and Cornwall Junction Light Railway
It then follows the line of the North Cornwall Railway
It then follows the line of the Bodmin and Wadebridge Railway
The journey ends at the closed station of Bodmin North

The first closed station on this journey is Old Ynysybwl Halt

This station is correct as being the first closed station we would meet on the Brecon and Merthyr Junction Railway, but again, the line of the PC&N Machen loop line has been omitted. There are just three stations on that loop line, including the one of Waterloo Halt that is mentioned in the journey preamble.

So having passed through the open station of Caerphilly to access this loop line, the first of these three stations is....

Gwernydomen Halt
