Ooh, now I know I have photos of EE stuff here. Missed out on POTW 431 in the end as I didn't have any electric-hauled freight phots after all available for use!

Looking forward to seeing the other entries!

This will probably sound stupid but I'm assuming that English Electric means any Electric Locomotive or EMU that was built in england or is it just Locos?

Maybe not atomicdanny, you may have something EE made quite a wide variety of Locos.

EE Locos

True, I do have a few pictures of those locomotives, but no matter what I enter I think most people know that the winner will be something that has either a 37 or a 55 (Deltic) in the picture! (since some people vote for their favourite rather than the best picture!)

Am I mistaken in thinking that the traction motors recovered from the Class 432s for use in Class 442 were of English Electric build? For that matter, so were those used in most of the Southern Region Outer Suburban units. Would that count?

Where do we stand on Class 31s? When they had the rubbish engine they were Class 30, but when they received English Electric engines they became Class 31s I believe - Class 30 and 31s

Can I suggest that this competition becomes only units that are both originally and exclusively of EE build? That way we can avoid little grey areas such as these.

And it means I can't enter again :(

That is according to Wikipedia, if correct it gives us quite a variety to choose from.

Hey! what about the Spanish class 277 or Polish EU6 electric locos or the Portuguese 1400s and 1800s let alone the stuff they built for New Zealand or Kenya :)

And Australia too, maybe our resident Aussie has some shots, but that requires he be in the right part of the country. It's a great excuse to post this video again though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWYNx0_h-qU

Don't forget DP2!
I have just noticed this is Comp 432, so it must be an omen (see my earlier post)

And not forgetting the Hastings / Hampshire / Oxted DEMU classes. Actually, thinking about it, do photos of 73's count regardless of which power source it's on at the time?

The 73s count, although the DEMUs don't count because if you look above English Electric refers to a company rather than English Electrics ;) and its mostly diesel trains though :)

But with the 73s, the JAs were built at Eastleigh by BR: only the JBs were built by English Electric.

Similarly, some of the 86s were built by BR at Doncaster rather than English Electric
