It came very close for my decision but I've decided to vote for no. 19.

Some really great photos this week, I like number 7 - the Sleeper looks good in that livery and with a matching '90', and the lighting and composition make for an effective shot.

I like number 11 as it's captured the atmosphere of Corrour on a winter's day very effectively.

I like number 1 as it's a bit of a classic view of Bath and is both a good view of the HST and includes an effective background with the (?)Georgian housing filling the scene.

Number 6 is good as the 170s look good in that livery and you've captured it against what to my mind is an ideal photographic sky, with a nice blue colour and some cumulo-nimbi to add interest. Was a grey filter used? All the better if it was.

They're all good though, enjoyed looking through them.

I was going to enter a photo of a First Bus outside Norwich Rail Station, its a great photo!

However I couldn't find me portable hard drive (memory stick).

Back on topic = 19 gets my vote!

I was gonna go for 10, then I saw 19 and went for that instead.

2, 6, 7, 11, 19 were the best shots I thought. I always prefer shots without trains in them I think, not sure why.

Another great selection from the contributors again this week. I think in terms of quality these are some of the most evenly matched I've seen, making a single choice difficult. Congratulation to all on a great selection. I've even enjoyed viewing them despite the 'Worst Group' focus for the topic this week!

Sorry, I shouldn't be nasty about First should I? :D

Tough one. Many great pics, but numbers 1, 6, 18 and 19 stand out by having a very...railway-ish feel to them. With that said, I've decided that number 19 gets my vote because the lighting and angle are just perfect, thus it's very elegant.

Some very good shots this week - very varied and interesting
However I am voting for 19 this week. It instantly stood out to me due to the light and angle, and very much the clarity in the image is very good - kind of a shame the resolution for the competition can't be higher

Thanx everyone who voted for my picture.

Number 6 is good as the 170s look good in that livery and you've captured it against what to my mind is an ideal photographic sky, with a nice blue colour and some cumulo-nimbi to add interest. Was a grey filter used? All the better if it was.

Thank you for a good word
It was a C-Polarizer filter used.
The picture was taken in the last moment, couse I didnt even realize its a train coming, had just only few seconds for a get my camera on and get a picture, so I was so suprised its that good result. I really didnt expect something like that ;)

I only just remembered to see how I did... pleased to see I got my first three votes ever! The alternative entry (attached for your critique!) was a pan shot in an identical place which I managed to get a sharpish HST and soft background, but I wasn't happy with the light so chose the one with the train blurred, which is the effect I'd intended for that one.

I was standing in a field at about 8.30pm hence the difficulty with the light!

This one from Martin Loader's site is more like what can be achieved in full daylight with better equipment and puts mine to shame. http://www.hondawanderer.com/43183_Uffington_2009.htm
