Why is there no online information about the cost of extension tickets that are needed with a Freedom Pass when you travel outside London?

How much do extension tickets cost?

Are extension tickets cheaper if purchased in advance?

Thank you

The price of Boundary Zone 6 tickets can be found on brfares.com

As Boundary Zone 6 fares are only available as walk-up fares (not Advance fares) they are no cheaper if purchased in advance.

They are only available from ticket offices, telesales and Southern ticket machines. Not available for purchase online.

brfares.com is an excellent site, thank you.

Marcus52 can you clarify the type of pass you have? Assuming you are indeed born in 1952 that would make you 60 now, and you'll need to be 62.5 before you can get a freedom pass.

Do you in fact have the new 60-65 london pass? The extension arrangements for this may or may not be the same as the freedom pass, I haven't looked.

Those with certain disabilities are also entitled to a Freedom Pass.

I was 61 in July and I have a full Freedom Pass (yet to be used).

Am I allowed to use the extension ticket to travel from London Paddington to Oxford via Reading? Or must I travel on a direct train?

Train 11:30 London Paddington [PAD] Reading [RDG]
11:57 0h 27m

First Great Western service

Train 12:11 Reading [RDG] Oxford [OXF]

Reading is on the most direct route. You may change trains or take a direct train, it's up to you.

The routeing of a Boundary Zone 6 to Oxford tickets is via Any Permitted route, which means any route permitted in the Routeing Guide.

In the case of Boundary Zone 6 to Oxford there are not many permitted routes other than the obvious, but for example you could travel via Staines if you wanted to.
