There was an ECS move through Teignmouth today about 1.30ish.
From RTT Friday looks to be the usual two diagrams:Does anyone have any idea of the likely HST diagrams for the weekend of 30 September - 2 October? I am looking at going south on Friday and back north on Sunday.
Many thanks![]()
From RTT Friday looks to be the usual two diagrams:
0611 Leeds - Plymouth
0606 Edinburgh - Plymouth
1227 Plymouth - Edinburgh
1527 Plymouth - Leeds
Sunday looks like just one diagram due to Engineering works:
0811 Leeds - Plymouth
1427 Plymouth - Leeds
Possibly the following:Hi, would anyone happen to know what the diagrams are expected to be for the HSTs between Sunday 18th and Friday 23rd September as I know this is when CrossCountry should be diverting via Westbury due to engineering works in the Bristol area?
Thanks.
Are the diagrams for this weekend known, Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th?
Is it likely that XC will once again restrict HST use to Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only, possibly from next week, now that the summer peak is over? It wouldn't surprise me.
No plans for this as far as I am aware. In fact I believe the plan is to get a 3rd daily diagram out once the rakes have been through their current overhaul which should be early next year.
I didn't realise the rakes were being overhauled. I thought the XC HST'S were being stood down from August 2023 and replaced by ex Avanti Voyagers or is that still no more than hearsay? No plans for this as far as I am aware. Yes it ran empty to Leeds.Doesn't the set off this form the first departure from Leeds on Sunday morning at 0811 ? Will it run as ECS from BHM-LDS ?

None were actually planned to though, it was all in response to on the day disruption. With the current situation with HST traction knowledge at Birmingham and the fact Manchester don't sign them, this pretty much rules out any booked work.As HST's operated to Manchester quite a few times in 2018, if the 17:05 Manchester - Bristol was replaced by an 18:05 Manchester - Plymouth like pre-covid then I can't see a reason why the 11:53 from Plymouth to Manchester 16:59 can't run the 18:05 back to Plymouth.
I know why - there was service disruption between Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway. On 24/09/22 the 1638 Newcastle to Plymouth was a HST which was unusual.
This was in response to an issue in the Bristol area earlier that day which caused a HST to spin at BPW to form a service back north. The HST only worked the 1638 Newcastle to Plymouth as far as Leeds. On 24/09/22 the 1638 Newcastle to Plymouth was a HST which was unusual.
Sunday 30th has engineering works between Derby and Birmingham splitting the NE-SW route in two.Afternoon everyone.
Will these still be more or less the same towards the end of October?
Let me guess, route knowledge via Leicester has been allowed to lapse?Sunday 30th has engineering works between Derby and Birmingham splitting the NE-SW route in two.
You would have thought so, both sets that were at Neville Hill this morning have ended up in Laira tonight so they will definitely need at least one up there tomorrow night...Given the HST railtour this Tuesday, won't a Plymouth to Leeds service tomorrow have to be formed of an HST so that the set is there?
Plenty of drivers still sign it. Some may have lapsed but not in significant numbers.Let me guess, route knowledge via Leicester has been allowed to lapse?
So what’s the excuse for terminating at Derby from the north on the date in question? The work appears to be between Derby and Tamworth.Plenty of drivers still sign it. Some may have lapsed but not in significant numbers.
