Hi Lou,

I did. Have been offered a start date but due to unforeseen circumstances I've regrettably had to turn down the offer for now.

Did you apply?

I received conditional offer of employment for trainee tram driver over two weeks ago. Still awaiting start date. I know around 800 applied for 25 vacancies.
So I guess it will take a few months to train up 25.

Congratulations, can you remember what sort of questions you were asked in the interview ? , this will be the first interview I've had in over 15 years & also the first job I've applied for in this time .. it's a dream job for me so if you could give me a heads up on anything I'd appreciate it a lot thank you

I'm in the mix still - just confirming driving assessment and interview date. Any info would be helpful as LouLou said.

Thanks in advance

I've never taken a driving assessment before lol
I've been practicing driving 10:2 on the wheel lol !
Do you get marked down for not holding the steering wheel properly ? I don't mean like driving along with one hAnd lol ! I'm not going to do that however after driving for many years it's hard to go along n drive like u just passed your test ! Just would like to know if I don't hold the wheel as you are kind of taught .. is a bad thing or not ???

The assessment takes about twenty minutes and covers the surrounding roads around the depot. They just want to see that you can drive a company vehicle safely, observing the speed limits and making full use of your observational skills when pulling out at junctions etc. It's not a driving test and nothing to worry about, unless you drive like a boy racer.

As city cat said, it's not a driving test. It's just to see how you observe the road, speed limits etc. The guy that took me out made me feel very relaxed and it just felt like a friendly drive with a mate!!

As for the interview, think about what good customer service looks like, how you would deal with an emergency situation and how you might combat fatigue. (To name a few).

Good luck guys, be yourself and relax!

No I am still waiting to hear ? I have seen some trainees driving around I presume these are the ones that started at the very end of march so if it's 13 weeks training they should be coming to an end at the end of this month,
Railseeker Have you heard anything back yet ?

Anyone heard of any start dates coming up. I've only seen one tram in training with trainees on and that was back in April.
