They are still expecting the D Stock to be around into the middle of 2016 as far as I know, although there are now very few S7s left to be built.

There are 54 off-peak trains on the District (main) Line, so far 15 are S7, so 25%.

There are still around 10 S7 (1x S8) still to build, 45 S7 trains still outstanding to be delivered to London.

(i can't confirm full details yet but last D Stock MAY be much later than that quoted above)

Highest numbered one I have seen in service is 21471/2.

Highest numbered one I have been told has been delivered is 21475/6.

So I suspect the only ones in store are those that are completed but still at Derby.

Derby or (more likely) Old Dalby seeing as Bombardier had got up to unit 540 or so assembled in Derby in early july, and had got cars from 547 in the making.

I do suspect that some of the S7s in Ealing and Upminster don't move around much though, there isn't enough work for them at the moment!

Yesterday I was travelling from Hammersmith to Victoria. I had been on an S7 from King's Cross to Paddington earlier, so shunned an S7 waiting at Hammersmith in favour of a D stock train, which did come next. I want to ride the D stock while I still can. The blue and green seating seems appropriate as London United ex-Transdev buses in that area of west London have these colours in their moquette!

Aha ok, thanks for the info. Didn't realise that had started so early!

If you mean the ATO testing that would've been for the aborted Bombardier system - I don't think they've finalised the deal with Thales yet to fit their Seltrac system, it's replacement.
