Not sure if they are covered on another thread, the High Output 66s are reported on the WNXX forum to be 149/156/161/167/171/174/181/183/194 & 221 which are to be re-numbered 66651 to 66660

So close to the devil’s own loco!
.... :D I thought exactly the same when I photographed Freightliner 66606 on Friday! The Devil's No.6 rail ride.

What is "the WNXX forum" please? I keep reading it referred to on RailUK. <<< Another railway forum so going to give it a go.

DB have posted on Facebook about the regearing of the sheds. I've created a new thread to track the regearing and deployment into service:

.... That shouldn't be a surprise because haven't DB already very extensively rebuilt and modified some of the Class 60 in service with DCRail/Cappagh Group?

They did Super60 rebuilds on the DCR and GBRf 60s as well as their own, it's been a while since the last were carried out though which were the DCR ones, 2021?

The bulk of the DB 60s were withdrawn because of engine hours needing rebuilds too expensive to be economic, I've no idea how many hours 024, 062 & 074 have done but it seems odd having a micro fleet operating unless it's temporary until the HTE 66s are all available

I don't believe that at all haha. I can't see what justifies having 3 non-standard (compared to the sheds) locomotives operating heavier trains when the HTE sheds should be more than capable of this.

Even if it's temporary, surely it would be cheaper for DB to double head the trains that need the extra power for the time being than spend a ton of money fixing up three locomotives only to withdraw them again in a few months

That would be a surprise. 60063 was currently under going overhaul and has been inside Toton for near 2 years, that would of been first on the list to complete if the claims were true, surely?

Maybe connected with taking over from GBRF in South Wales , probably need to split those double sheds on the Robeston flows.

It's only the short term - 24 and 74 are operational, just switched off. 24 is still at Arpley coupled to the 4 hopper wagons.

I note that these 3 are not on the latest list of 16 loco's for sale, which apart from 60065 Spirit of Jaguar appear to be all "super" 60's

Looks like DBs abandonment of the 60s has bought back the age old tradition of banking out of Peak Forest (ICI hoppers last night).

Just seen the following VSTP move scheduled for tomorrow - Arpley to Toton which has the headcode 0Z60. Could this be the 60 that's been held at Arpley since withdrawal being hauled back to Toton?
There's also this move that arrives into Arpley from Crewe TMD beforehand, perhaps this is the loco that will haul her back?

This was indeed for 60024 in the end - it was hauled back to Toton by two sheds:

Thanks @Cowley

News today on WNXX that 60062 has been on the Toton loadbank and is expected to be out today on test runs, rumour is that it is being tested with a view for hire to Colas, as with all rumours we shall see what actually occurs ....

First, and what seems to be only, run seems to have gone OK, 0825 0Z23 Toton TMD to Toton TMD via Leicester

* Obviously it was without fault as it didn't run * :s

60062 stayed on Toton today, the proposed test run paths were operated by lone 66’s, 66224 to Leicester and later 66186 to Derby twice.
