....So close to the devil’s own loco!
The whole class is diabolically ubiquitous…..So close to the devil’s own loco!
The hope is gone60024 and 60074 have now joined 60062 in the WQBA stored pool
.... That shouldn't be a surprise because haven't DB already very extensively rebuilt and modified some of the Class 60 in service with DCRail/Cappagh Group?Claims on Class 60 Group facebook this evening that DB are to overhaul 024, 062 & 074 for a return to service, we shall see ........

I don't believe that at all haha. I can't see what justifies having 3 non-standard (compared to the sheds) locomotives operating heavier trains when the HTE sheds should be more than capable of this.Claims on Class 60 Group facebook this evening that DB are to overhaul 024, 062 & 074 for a return to service, we shall see ........
That would be a surprise. 60063 was currently under going overhaul and has been inside Toton for near 2 years, that would of been first on the list to complete if the claims were true, surely?Claims on Class 60 Group facebook this evening that DB are to overhaul 024, 062 & 074 for a return to service, we shall see ........
Maybe connected with taking over from GBRF in South Wales , probably need to split those double sheds on the Robeston flows.Claims on Class 60 Group facebook this evening that DB are to overhaul 024, 062 & 074 for a return to service, we shall see ........
Robeston trains are far fewer now and mostly seem to be single 66s lately.Maybe connected with taking over from GBRF in South Wales , probably need to split those double sheds on the Robeston flows.
It's only the short term - 24 and 74 are operational, just switched off. 24 is still at Arpley coupled to the 4 hopper wagons. That would be a surprise. 60063 was currently under going overhaul and has been inside Toton for near 2 years, that would of been first on the list to complete if the claims were true, surely?
I note that these 3 are not on the latest list of 16 loco's for sale, which apart from 60065 Spirit of Jaguar appear to be all "super" 60'sClaims on Class 60 Group facebook this evening that DB are to overhaul 024, 062 & 074 for a return to service, we shall see ........
This was indeed for 60024 in the end - it was hauled back to Toton by two sheds:Just seen the following VSTP move scheduled for tomorrow - Arpley to Toton which has the headcode 0Z60. Could this be the 60 that's been held at Arpley since withdrawal being hauled back to Toton?
There's also this move that arrives into Arpley from Crewe TMD beforehand, perhaps this is the loco that will haul her back?Realtime Trains | 0Z60 0941 Arpley Sidings to Toton T.M.D. | 29/05/2024
