I have just received an RTV back which I recently claimed for, except it was for a lot more than I am entitled to. I am certainly not complaining about that ;))) but my question is, do they actually check the train you claim for and how long it was delayed for?

In my case, I have received back the appropriate amount for if my train was delayed for more than two hours, so I received 100% back of my original ticket, but I only claimed for being half an hour late. Is this an error on their part or did they send it as a goodwill gesture?

Probably an error. Just keep it. Treat it as a goodwill gesture.
