Will this have a significant impact on the WCML services to London in terms of numbers (namely Avanti services?). Can't be doing with standing room only tomorrow.

Preston and Liverpool football clubs both have games in the London area on Saturday. (1500 and 1730 kick offs)

It's not going to be pleasant whatever alternative route people travel unless they stagger their journey rather than try to head towards London in the morning or out again afternoon/evening if they can. GA have had auto announcements this week at Cambridge station warning intending passengers that the Liverpool Street route will be extremely busy due to the closure.

Limits of the block are different and it knocks about 35-40 minutes off the rail replacement bus time to Bedford.
Also as Class170101 mentioned upthread, Romford to London is blocked which means some Norwich pax will travel via Cambridge, which on top of the limited capacity through March means NOT using PBO makes sense.
I am impressed with the service St Neots is getting: 2tph to Scotland plus 1 to Leeds - I hope the station and RRBs are coping . Add to that 1tph Leeds-Retford and some PBO-Lincolns and LNER are busy today!

So will this be the last weekend long closure of the ECML in and out of King's Cross for a while or will Network Rail need more in the near future ? The calendar/publicity suggests this is the last one but maybe they've only published info up to the May timetable change ?

A reduced long-distance service planned from 5th to 13th September 2020 to enable engineering work between Grantham and Peterborough, including no long-distance services to or from King’s Cross on the weekend of Saturday 5th September and Sunday 6th September 2020.

Rules of the Route is showing one for August Bank Holiday 2020 and Ipswich to Norwich blocked as well. West Anglia will be busy by the looks of it.
