Pardon me for asking some very obvious questions but ...
If I use split tickets to reduce the cost of my journey, are the TOCs still obliged to get me to my final destination if I miss my last connection at the ticket changeover point? In other words if I have one ticket from A to B and another from B to C, what happens if the first train is late and I miss my last connection at B?
And, as a slight variant, what happens if I have an Advance ticket from B to C and the train from A to B is late and causes me to miss my designated train?
