Waiting at Motherwell for 7.04 to Edinburgh and an announcement is made at 7.02 to advise that this service has been cancelled - no explanation as to why!

Is anyone aware of the reason for this service (6.50 from Glasgow) being pulled as station staff said that East Coast were not giving a reason!

Remember that there's only ever enough trains at Polmadie as there needs to be; IIRC 2 stable overnight, and both are needed for the early morning services the next day (the 06:50 and 07:50 departures from GLC). So there's no operational spare (however the train would likely have started from Edinburgh, where there would be a spare train available - although that's obviously no consolation to you and your fellow passengers!).

The next service, as "route 101" has rightly suggested, is the 07:28 Scotrail service to North Berwick, which gets into Edinburgh at 08:35. I reckon that would be very popular with commuters anyway. So, how overcrowded was your journey to Edinburgh?
