That looks amazing! Can anyone tell me why the Regional class 158/156 are in this Livery yet all the class 170/171 will be in the same Livery as 222104? I'm sure the class 360 will also be in that Livery rather than the Outgoing Livery.
because the 158/156s are leaving the franchise in the future, along with the 222/180s & hsts, 222104 was to show the full livery that is being applied to the final fleet, 170s, 810s & 360s

I get why they have a blue band around the windows (it fits with the ex-Stagecoach 222s, and avoids repainting that more complex area) but the blue clashes with the purple IMO. Still looks good though IMO!

Thank You very much- I appreciate that and that does certainly clear things up. I'm sorry I should have knew that before

Same here, I guess with their replacement, the interiors are not going to receive much attention.

I'm a bit confused by this vinyl. Have the blue window surrounds been added? And as I guess the base colour is blue so the whole thing is vinyled.
The photo was clearly taken whilst the work was being done, so I doubt that's the finished look.

In which case why not just do all over purple

The blue has always been there, the vinyl simply 'cuts away' to show it through, rather than being a full body job AIUI. It's more apparent on the 222s as with the white base paint there's a small 'ring' around the blue window band where it meets the purple. A sensible move really both for commonality and because wrapping the vinyl around the window frames and surrounds would have been a right pain.

They don't want to do all over purple because that's reserved for the 'final product'. The all-over purple is reserved for the new trains where they've put the money in to try and create a positive experience. Put another way, if this had been done in all-over purple, the average passenger when they see the new bimodes (and advertising) will think it's the same train with the same worn interior (and tendency to autoignite)

It would seem to be obvious to apply the new livery only to the new stock, so that the new operator is only associated with the improvements and is distanced from the old stuff.
Far be it from me to criticise Chris Green, but...
In freight marketing we were puzzled why, although Mr Green promised great improvement to Network South-East in the future, he applied the new image (red lamp-posts etc.) immediately, thereby associating NSE forever with the existing service rather than the promised new world - and suggesting perhaps a lack of understanding of marketing. Before his arrival, I think I'm right in saying that the(previous) orange and brown NSE livery was only applied to refurbished stock.

To make a statement that things really were changing and that it wasn’t just marketing guff.

A post on facebook shows 43073 has been named 'Neville Hill HST depot 42 years' also one of the comments suggest the 43047 may be getting a name as well.

43047 should be getting a name - believe it is Paxman-related.

Well done to the team at Neville Hill for doing this - a nice touch.
