Another picture from the Class 37 website states that 37422 is 'on test' meaning that it could be ready for service soon.

I assume 37422 will get Harry Needle orange as it's current livery has been chipped etc

Progress update for 37402 now owned by Sheaf Engineering Services Ltd.

As promised, here's an update on the progress of our locomotive 37402, though it's a bit later than expected. Shawn and James have been busy over the past few weeks rebuilding the engine, which had suffered from been hydraulic.

Here’s what’s been done so far:

Full set of main bearings installed
Big end bearings replaced
Con-rods checked for ovality, bends, and twists
All pistons re-ringed
All cylinder heads overhauled
12 fuel injectors overhauled
12 new liners installed
2 overhauled turbos
Oil bypass valve removed, tested, and re-fitted
Water thermostat removed, tested, and re-fitted
Heat exchanger overhauled
New batteries installed

There’s still more work to be done, but we're making good progress.

37402 had it's first test train today, 1Q35 PLPR booked as 43274 and 43303 but 274 had issues and 37402/607 were utilized instead. Unfortunately between Darlington and Durham 37402 started throwing oil down her side and eventually was declared a failure at Newcastle. A picture from York is attached below.

Yeah it was a real surprise when i noticed her pulling into Newcastle, a real shame she's been declared a failure considering i think she's meant to head for Glasgow tomorrow and head back to derby iirc, wonder how long she'll be there and how long it'll take to be able to head back (or get rescued)

37402 has obviously recovered as it sounds and looks magnificent heading for Queen Street today. Some signs of oil spillage on the side I’ve just viewed.

A fitter must have been on site and both locos have recovered!

No… I replied to a post specifically on 37402. I know though that 37403 was there also.

I disagree that it’s a ‘good’ job. 418 has got to be a contender for the worst 37 livery :(
I have mixed opinions about 418s livery. People say it's a love hate but I haven't really got an opinion on it. At the end of the day the 37 is there to work and in a way I like them painting it up as they would a modern loco but then again it looks great in large logo...
