Now that you mention it, I do recall seeing something about that on a Facebook post somewhere……..It's currently at Wolverton for repaint
217 out more than likely as it first in our of the two there, unsure what's going inToday it looks like a 323 is on its way from Allerton to Wolverton to be painted.
Looks like the crew will bring one back to Allerton later.
Anyone know which ones they are?

Railcam now recording 5H70 as 212 (ie going to Wolverton for painting).217 out more than likely as it first in our of the two there, unsure what's going in
Railcam claims 217 too.217 out more than likely as it first in our of the two there, unsure what's going in
In their last months on the Birmingham Crosscity line the USB charging ports were the only way of telling which units were going to Northern.Dinting to Manchester Piccadilly 11.25 was 323217 noted with WM seats and USB charging ports.
Returning home on 15.33 it was 323213 with Northern seats and no USB charging ports
There is no evidence that they were ever installed. In their last months on the Birmingham Crosscity line the USB charging ports were the only way of telling which units were going to Northern.
How amusing that whilst being re-painted in its nice new Northern livery, 213 has new seat covers, but the charging ports have been removed!
They wasn't, 213 was one of the 5 which was never done. There is no evidence that they were ever installed.
I never knew that. Mind you, I didn't take much notice. If I saw the charging points I knew the unit was one of the chosen ones, and just assumed all would be done. They wasn't, 213 was one of the 5 which was never done.
219/241/242/243 didn't have them installed either
All 17 should of been done but imagine with WMR being quite short of units during the transition they couldn't release the remainder to be doneI never knew that. Mind you, I didn't take much notice. If I saw the charging points I knew the unit was one of the chosen ones, and just assumed all would be done.
Was surprised to see 206 in West mids livery to be honest as I checked RTT which showed it in Northern livery. The opposite of this is RTT showing the ex East mid 156s in their old livery long after repainting into Northern.I imagine some more of the EX WMT units will enter service over the next few days with some Blackpool diagrams being changed into Double 323s... Best to keep a eye out on RTT for unit allocations!
There isn't a WMT liveried 323 icon on RTT so they will show as northern onesWas surprised to see 206 in West mids livery to be honest as I checked RTT which showed it in Northern livery. 323210 is also out for the first time today323242 is out today working one for the Blackpool diagrams. It's paired with 323232 on the 1017 Manchester Airport-Blackpool North
203 and 212 in for repaintWith 323210 and 323242 now having made their debuts for Northern, it just leaves 323203, 323209, 323212, 323241 and 323243 to work.
Livery wise, I have noted the following of the ex-West Mids transfers:
323202: West Midlands Trains
323203: Unknown
323205: Northern
323206: West Midlands Trains
323207: West Midlands Trains
323208: Northern
323209: Unknown
323210: West Midlands Trains
323212: Unknown (at Wolverton though)
323213: Northern
323217: Northern
323218: West Midlands Trains
323219: West Midlands Trains
323220: Northern
323241: Unknown
323242: West Midlands Trains
323243: Unknown
Of the ones marked “Unknown”, I am presuming they are in West Midlands Trains livery still, with the possible exception of 323212, which I have heard is at Wolverton so no doubt that will re-emerge in Northern livery.
There’s a move coming back from Wolverton as well later - 323203 and/or 323212?Ex-WM 323210 is on its way to Wolverton for painting today.
Seems, with the exception of 323213, this is how they’re all coming back! I believe they only did 213 internally so they would have a full spare set of WMT seating moquettes should any of the others with WMT interiors need reupholstering.Saw 323203 at Crewe during a stop on platform 12.It still has WMT interior.
Yep, apart from 213. The rest are not being changed apart from Digital mods (USBs, Screens and counters) etcSeems, with the exception of 323213, this is how they’re all coming back! Liam L - are there any plans to change the seating moquette to Northern in the long term do you know? Yes, the obvious changes are evident as you mention! The two slightly less obvious differences (certainly in the eyes of the regular non-enthusiast commuter anyway) between the ex WMT and original Northern units I’ve noticed are the bodyside window surrounds remaining white after repaint, and the main destination screens have bigger letters on the former WMT units.Yep, apart from 213. Not a clue I'm afraid, The window surrounds on the Ex WMT ones were black when they was still around these parts and have been painted white with Northern for some reason.Liam L - are there any plans to change the seating moquette to Northern in the long term do you know?
