It seems that Network Rail have settled on a new design of ticket barrier that will be fitted to every manned station in the UK.
In secret studies and trials, including vists to other countries, they have seen the new ticket barriers in operation.
The first examples are expected to be installed in London and the surround areas later this year, with the rest of the UK having ticket barriers installed over the following 2 years.
