Hi
I'm planning to travel from London to Oxford on Saturday, to arrive by about midday, then on to Taunton to arrive by 9 pm at the latest, then to return to London during the day on Monday or Tuesday.
I have a Gold Card, and I think the cheapest way to do this is to buy an off-peak return from London to Oxford (£17.65) and super off peak return from Reading to Taunton (£54).
This would mean breaking my Oxford-London return journey in Reading on Saturday, and restarting it in Reading on Monday/Tuesday. Is this length of break of journey ok, or do First Great Western put extra restrictions on off peak tickets?
And is there a cheaper option I've missed? (I did look at getting advance singles, and separate London-Reading and Reading-Oxford returns, but neither option seemed to come up cheaper.)
Thanks.
