Fastest Accelerating EMU and DMU ?

I don't have much positive to say about the DEMU killers but the new translink CAF 4000 has very good acceleration. About 10% better than the CAF 3000

From stopping at Yorkgate to passing Fortwilliam Depot in a 4000 (1.24 miles) you will go from 0 to the linespeed of 70mph while a CAF 3000 would be at around 60. A 450 would be around 50mph if it was one of the better performers such as 459

I was thinking the same!

314s out of Glasgow Central get up to the platform speed (15mph?) in no time at all, and can fairly shift once they're out in the open. Not sure how they compare between 50-75mph against other units, but with eight traction motors - one on each driving car axle - they can put the power down with little problem.

Hmmm they only have 880 hp though.
