Good morning,

I was watching a "Father Brown" TV Episode over the weekend on one of the diggi channels, not sure how old it was. It was Called "Kembleford Dragon" or something similar and featured a fair bit of coverage of a local railway line, steam operated and the carriages were GWR/BR, Chocolate & Cream, also a large viaduct was shown.

I was just curious as to which heritage railway and station was used to film these scenes, I thought firstly of the Severn Valley or maybe the West Somerest, but then I wondered if it was one of the railways in Torbay/Totnes or perhaps the Gloucester & Warwickshire line and the viaduct on the new extensions to / from Broadway. It also featured a shed with alot of railway memorabilia and a 00 I think, gauge layout.

Cheers, Steve.

The imdb says it was the Gloucestershire-Warwickshire Railway. Apparently in one scene a "Toddington" sign was visible at the station, having been overlooked for removal/covering up.

Haven't seen the episode in question, but understand that some "Father Brown" episodes have been filmed at or around Winchcombe railway station (on the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Steam Railway).

One episode of Father Brown was filmed at Gotherington on the private house side of the station. Father Brown and his pals were sitting there supposedly waiting for a train but no attempt has been made to disguise the fact there is no track at this platform. I must say I really do enjoy FB they do try quite hard to get period details correct though I think the most recent series stretched credibility a bit as there were quite a few howlers, though not railway ones.
