Could have saved about 3 pages of speculation... :D

Yeah, but that would have been no fun!

I see the London24 story has been changed, no doubt following my comment posted on the site. No longer says the driver raised the pantograph.

Probably not possible but there is one way to have OHL and not obstruct views to St Pauls ;)

Just have a OHL bar fitted to the roof within Blackfriars station limits as the Haymarket Tunnels have had fitted then just fit regular OHL from south of Blackfriars to Elephant and Castle :D

There you go then - train fault.

Easy when you know how. :D
Yep. The rear pan stayed up when the front pan came down. Obviously a fault with it as once the pans go "over height" they then come back down and sit on the roof. They have to be checked for damage and reset by a fitter by pressing a button on the roof.

Incidentally, the dual voltage buzzers were recently modified and now cannot be cancelled by the driver when changing AC>DC at Farringdon. I would imagine it highly unlikely that a driver would continue through City Thameslink with the alarm still sounding. Though the pan could in effect be put up in error, you would have to select AC mode first (the button is covered to reduce the chance of this happening as the pan up button is also used for traction resets).

Heading north and changing DC>AC there is no buzzer. You just have to remember to pan up at City Thameslink. But it wouldn't be a major problem if you forgot as you'd just run out of juice on leaving Farringdon and would stop and pan up.

ROCS is already in use between st pancras low level and the old kings cross station, there is also a short section in the tunnel south of city thameslink. But that is a dead section.
