I am thinking of buying the 225 Studios cab ride from Kings Cross - Kings Lynn filmed on One Railway several years ago.

I already own a cab ride on the East Coast.
Does the Kings Cross - Kings Lynn electric repeat much of this journey during the first section?

One didn't serve Kings Cross, WAGN did though, the eastern half of which later became One: is it from Liverpool St or Kings Cross.

If the former - none, if the latter, only the first 30 or so miles to Hitchin.

I've got this one (in the opposite direction though, Kings Lynn - Kings Cross) and it's on the ECML between Hitchin and Kings Cross - less than half the journey I would say.

Never knew One served KGX :|

Anyway, yeah, the first 30 or so miles to Hitchin will follow the ECML (and your previous DVD), after that it will all be 'new' footage.

Judging from the advertising blurb, there seems to be confusion as to whether the ride is from Kings Cross-Kings Lynn, or v.v!

If it is from Kings Cross it will share the same tracks as far as Hitchin. But if your earlier ride down the EC main line was a few years ago, some of the lineside faetures might have changed.

If your ride is actually Kings Lynn-Kings Cross, it will be like a new ride, for going one way often looks very different from going the other.

Ahh right this is the route First Capital Connect use now?

Were you pleased with this cab ride. With the hefty prices 225 charge I need to weight up whether the section from Hitchin - Kings Lynn is actually worth the money.

I am definatly buying New St to Stansted though.

The site seems to have simply got a bit confused. It was originally Wagn then FCC, so One never came into it.

Did any 365s ever get used on the other side of Wagn (i.e. into Liverpool Street)? I presume they didn't.

I'm sure I've seen something about needing to remove the step at the doors in order to tow them down the West anglia route, so passenger service isn't possible

365s and other networkers are generally out of gauge anywhere other than routes they often operate on unless the door steps are removed. I would doubt they would be cleared to Liverpool street. I think a mate at FCC said they are cleared to cannonbury near Drayton park but only if the steps are removed first. Down south any junction with southeastern and southern (ie Victoria and blue anchor) have signs in the southern lines stating no networkers allowed beyond this point because the steps makes them too wide.

Those Cabrides do state one railway from Lynn to the x but I think it's just confusion-think the website owners meant WAGN.

Yup. I've ordered it now.

What are the highest speeds on this route?

If we are still talking about the DVD in the OP then it should be up to 100mph between Kings Cross and the Hitchin area. It will be lower to Kings Lynn after that though, but not slow.

Edit - it may reach 100mph between Cambridge and Ely, but I doubt it.

Cool, I was thinking in the region of 75mph Between Cambridge and Kings Lynn so great.
